The next new media that doenst current exist is virtual chatrooms that allow you to see the other person. Imagine a coffee shop where you can go and meet people but on a purely virtual room. It'll allow people to connect all around the world and meet almost anyone. It'll replace things like skype or facetime because it'll literally allow you to see the other person face to face. Even if you will be virtual, you can see them. Some other features of this virtual room will allow you to join custom chatrooms that are specific to your interests. Alot of the issues now is because of the anonymous factor when it comes to online forums. However this eliminates it because it'll allow people to  see who is behind that keyboard.

    This is a cool idea. Though, I do not think it will fully replace Facetime or Skype. The reason I say this is because it is more personalized. You can see how they really look and their real facial expressions. However, this is a wonderful addition to the social community! Good thinking :) the idea of being able to see who is behind the keyboard is amazing! I would definitely take some getting used to.

    I think this is an interesting take on Facetime and Skype. It would really change the way we communicate. I would enjoy using this technology to chat with people in other countries and get a more one on one experience.

    I think this is a really interesting idea. People can actually connect on a more personal level with the person who is speaking. In big group meetings it will actually benefit individuals because there will be less distractions and you can make it much more engaging.

IF I was hired to improve Baruch College through New Media Here are my top suggestions and they're all regarding social media presence. 1) Increase Facebook presence.. Baruch has accounts and such for the various organizations on campus but Baruch College as whole has a very weak social media presence. There are a few posts here and there about the upcoming events but it needs to be consistent in its post to gain a following. 2) Increase Snapchat presence. I think this can have a huge effect on people attending events on campus. Posting snapchats to a baruch snapchat account where students and other people can add the account and see events going on during clubhours. Some other benefits include gaining a network as well. Like in the article about "Social networking Technology Boosts Job Recruiting", a popular social media is Linkedin. LinkedIn allows for young professionals to build a network virtually that they always had to do in person before. Like in the article, it allows for recruiters to connect with people and give them opportunities that otherwise wouldn't have been possible. However this can come with some "dark sides" as well.  Social Media can lead to some serious anti-socialness, especially in the younger generation. Growing up so close to social media, people can forget that there is a reality as well.
